final assembely

A new attempt on the design for Miranda Kerr

after Russel's recommendation I have changed my design

Old design

this was the first design

Laser cut old design.

Here is a little video I made for assembly of my laser cut.

Long weekend

This weekend was the longest I have stayed and tried  3D printing

Here is video of print attempt that I have made unfortunately I wasn't successful printing a satisfactory shapes due to a number of reasons. But I certainly learned from my mistakes. following  picture will explains the problems that I have faced.

Printing the roof; a dome shape upside done with support. unfortunately the filament had a tie in the role and didn't feed through
3 more prints using different setting for layer thickness and with no support . at this stage I thought my model wont print due to single skin!

after trying different setting and failing to print I printed again this time with support and not infill because it should be hollow.

The print went through fine until it reached half way, then it started to seal the sphere and did not print the legs. However the supports for the legs printed as you can see in the photos.

Here I tried another part of the building with support but this model also would not print in the lower parts. It would just print the support in the lower parts. on the other images I tried the same model without the support. again it wouldn't print in the lower parts.

Same print with different setting with and without the support.

This print is the lift core; a very simple geometry model. first attempt failed due to  separation from the raft and in the second one the feeding was interrupted because of  TIE OF THE FILAMENT!!

This is the work of my 2 days!
